Commonwealth Games – Manchester 2002Andrew McMenamin2019-02-14T21:06:02+00:00 An early project for our company, Manchester 2002 saw us providing technical consultancy to the Manchester Commonwealth Games technology team regarding the Games information service and the news service. Media, athletes and officials alike were able to consult biographies, Games news, and results at the touch of a button during the Games. The company also ensured that the names of all athletes were fed through correctly, using some of the world’s best expertise in this area.
Project Description
During the Games Jayne Pearce acted as the Venue Media Manager at the Manchester Commonwealth Stadium looking after media’s needs during Athletics, Rugby 7s and both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Pearce International delivered a core team of volunteers who had also worked on the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics and the Olympic Games in Sydney. It was also some of Andrew’s initial work in photo management.
