After winning a competitive tender process, Pearce International is delighted to announce that we will be providing the media operations service to the Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup in London in 2018.

The World Cup is the greatest single sport event in hockey’s calendar. It ranks alongside the Olympics as the title that coaches and athletes are desperate to win. The world stage is the place where heroes are created and the Hockey Women’s World Cup has a long list of incredible athletes who have lit up this stage. This is the first time a Hockey Women’s World Cup has been hosted in the UK and is the largest government backed sport event in the UK this year.

Pearce International has been working with England Hockey since 2015, when they hosted the 2015 Men’s EuroHockey Nations Championships. This was a momentous occasion, when Ireland won its first ever hockey medal, beating the hosts. The Netherlands beat Germany 6-1 in the final, so it is fair to say that the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre saw its share of excitement at that tournament. This was also the first single sport event where the now established I-Zone was used. The following year saw the FIH Hockey Champions Trophy hosted in the same venue. In a first for the sport, both the men’s and women’s tournament were held back to back in the same venue, with the men’s competition added with only three month’s notice. The organisers rose superbly to the challenge, we played our part in this and the tournament was another great success.

Now we are delighted to be back working with England Hockey and the venue again, and are greatly looking forward to playing our part in the Hockey Women’s World Cup. Most of the English women were part of Great Britain’s Olympic gold winning team and expectations and excitement are high, with all the England matches already sold out. Media interest is expected to be high and we will be playing our part to make this a world class event experience for the accredited media.
